“Peter joined our team and was quickly a true asset to the efforts the City was making around Diversity Equity and Inclusion. Peter has meaningful and powerful work ethic. Their approach to their work is drapped in sincerity that drives understanding from even the toughest critics. Peter lead the trainings with empathy and compassion and taught us all how to do the work with empathy. It has been such a pleasure to work with and alongside Peter that I invited them to join the Mayor's Commission on LGBT Affairs.”

Thesis research explored becoming a Social Worker dedicated to researching the creative mind and social factors as to why this population (creative types, artists, performers) are easily susceptible to mental health diagnoses such as anxiety, depression, bi-polar disorder and addiction. Dedicated to creating a safe space for this population and furthering research in the field to provide wellness opportunities to a population often unable to find options due to financial and social stigmas. -

“Social Work, Trauma, and the Arts”. Contributing Writer. “Adult Play and Trauma.”
Bryn Mawr College
"The arts are an invaluable tool for social workers seeking to provide strengths-based support to trauma survivors," writes Corrado in the anthology introduction. "Creativity provides multiple benefits. Creativity humanizes trauma survivors. It helps them understand who they are and where they want to go. It gives them freedom in places where they feel constrained and oppressed. It gives them a voice in spaces where they feel silenced and marginalized. Creativity—the arts—speak for trauma…

CHOP DEI BREAKTHROUGH MAKER
Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia
I am honored and so privileged to have been selected as a Breakthrough Maker at CHOP’s 1st annual diversity, equity, and inclusion summit. This award means more to me than I can put into words. Growing up queer, latinx, and with a trauma background, I always wanted to advocate for a better world. I found myself called to this work, not only through social work, but psychology, and human engagement. I’ve only been at Chop a year and a half, but I can say that my life has been changed, for the…
I am honored and so privileged to have been selected as a Breakthrough Maker at CHOP’s 1st annual diversity, equity, and inclusion summit. This award means more to me than I can put into words. Growing up queer, latinx, and with a trauma background, I always wanted to advocate for a better world. I found myself called to this work, not only through social work, but psychology, and human engagement. I’ve only been at Chop a year and a half, but I can say that my life has been changed, for the better. Getting to come to work every day and work diligently towards a mission of inclusivity and belonging, and personal resilience for both our staff, community, patients and future Chopions has been invigorating.
It takes a village, and I’m thrilled to accept this award, but truly, the people who I have encountered at CHOP are like none other, and this work is impossible without the strength, love, compassion, and grace of them all. We all extend this to one another. Thank you, just thank you for this wonderful opportunity. I’m humbled. Children's Hospital of Philadelphia
Special thanks to the magnificent Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. The staff are next level invested, and so incredibly kind. I firmly believe we will make it from education to action has an institution because of their efforts. #chop #changetheworld #culturechange #awardwinning #diversityequityinclusion #representationmatters -
