80/20 rule rules the roost. If the demand doesn't meet 80% of market _demand_ then it's a nice to have. Proper product marketing research is an absolute must. That means a strong product marketing person or team that understands its target audience, why it's a must have product and how to use the 80/20 rule effectively.

OMG you just hit my sentiment as I was scrolling through what has truly become another Facebook. LinkedIn is the "professionals" Facebook. I feel assaulted after scrolling 60 seconds. Some of it just inane. There are a few people that are worth following and contributing with comments. Many of these individuals will not reciprocate so I'm dumping them. Then the "influencers" whose only purpose is parroting news many times days old. Their lemming acolytes are too lazy to go get it for themselves. They eat the parrot junk food which has a retention time of next comment read. That's is the reason I mix it up joining discussions ranging from SEC and international law to financial tech. LinkedIn = Facebook. Waiting for Zuck to take over as CEO.

Blackpearl.net was one of the first Oracle MSP of its kind.A key part of its success was the architecture of the remote database management system designed and developed in house. While remote performance management is now ubiquitous, this system was way ahead of HP, BMC and other performance management tools of the day. My work on the simulator was largely getting 3Com to fund Simplesoft Incorporated to produce this tool for 3Com with the rights to market at will. Today Simple Soft is the most widely used set of commercial SNMP tools on the market and I am proud to have been an early contributor to it.

Multi-threaded TET system test platform control server

Wrote specification and hired two fantastic MIT minds to create a X Windows UI driven overlay and server for the then popular TET (Test Environment Toolkit) so prevalent in the DCE and OSF development environments. This overlay system enabled our lab at HP to reduce system test setup time by 400%. We were way ahead of our time.
