Activities and Societies: National Leadership Honors Society
In addition to studying the artistry of popular and commercial music, I studied the business concepts of music business including intellectual property, copyrights, contracts, accounting, finance, marketing, and management. Subjects studied ranged from sound production to promotion, record production and promotion, publishing and copyright, research and development, evaluation of viability of different new ventures, social media marketing media, digital rights management, and other topics…
In addition to studying the artistry of popular and commercial music, I studied the business concepts of music business including intellectual property, copyrights, contracts, accounting, finance, marketing, and management. Subjects studied ranged from sound production to promotion, record production and promotion, publishing and copyright, research and development, evaluation of viability of different new ventures, social media marketing media, digital rights management, and other topics applicable to other area of business outside of business.
While studying usual business subjects, the music business/performance student must balance their business studies with courses in music theory and performance and performance in musical ensembles, all of which require about three times the practice time as an ordinary class. Thus, the music business/performance student graduates having learned discipline, time management, and poise on stage or in front of crowds.

Band Lip Candy was a winner of a contest in which contestants received votes from “Superfans” for their ability to create an original video in a day, for their original music, and their ability to develop a base of Superfans from social media marketing, all without private management. Top two winner performed on Music Lives 2021 among artists such as John Mayer, Wiz Kalifa, Pitbull and others on the Covid- period streaming event to benefit Musicares.
