“Qing was our resident pathologist on the Molecular Pathology project at the GRC. I was really impressed by her dedication and intelligence. I remember a project we had with almost 500 cancer tissue spots on a TMA. Each tissue spot also had multiple channel images labeled with different biomarkers. Qing went through all these images meticulously in order to provide us with ground truth of the relevant biomarker expression to compare our automated image analysis algorithms with. She would look at a tissue sample and tell you not only the pathology on the tissue, but also the likely disease stages or prognosis the patient possibly has. Qing is not afraid to share her knowledge with anyone, in fact she is always keen on mentoring others. She is very instrumental in the interpretation of research findings and trouble-shooting. Qing is also very friendly - you can hardly pick a quarell with her. Even if she disagrees with you, she will still smile while stating her disagreement backed by facts from her experience and in-depth knowledge. She really knows how to work with people and get the job done!”
