Their philosophy and goal continues to be the presentation of regional premieres of thought-provoking, challenging and entertaining contemporary plays. They are the only professional theatre in the region that dedicates its entire programming to new works that are daring, offbeat and, yes, sometimes controversial. Through the years they have remained steadfast to this original mission and philosophy.

The purpose of Phi Kappa Phi is to celebrate excellence in academics and integrity of character among our administration, faculty, students, and staff.

Membership is an honor that is neither cheaply won nor widely bestowed. Phi Kappa Phi exists because the founders believed, as all members still believe, that there are achievements worthy of celebration: academic work of extraordinary quality, exemplary leadership, and research that advances human knowledge. The invitation for membership recognizes distinguished performance in study, research, or leadership, sustained over a period of years, marking the transition from accomplished work of high merit to continued exceptional attainment. Phi Kappa Phi members have served in the White House, Congress, and the Supreme Court of the United States. They have won Nobel Prizes, Pulitzer Prizes, and numerous other national and international awards for service and achievement in their chosen fields. Phi Kappa Phi is proud to include among its membership thousands of men and women who, for more than a century, have sought to make a difference in the communities where they live and work.
