“I have reported to Ram (CEO) for the last three and a half years as the CRO of Valant. It has been one of the best and most rewarding professional relationships in my career. Ram took over as CEO of Valant in 2020, and we enjoyed continued, sustained success since that date. It is clear to everyone that Ram has been the main catalyst for that growth. I think one of the hardest parts of the CEO job is to walk the balance beam between getting everyone to work hard and fast, while at the same time being thoughtful and exacting in their actions, not to mention the constant need to exemplify the desired culture of respect and curiosity every day. There have been few leaders in my career that work harder, have an endless curiosity about our customers and market, care about their fellow employees, make the difficult decisions, and do so consistently with an attitude of respect, collaboration, and yes, even fun. “I had the pleasure of working with Ram for approximately 4 years, 2 of which were working as his direct report. The best way for me to explain Ram is by explaining his impact on my personal and professional growth during my time at Buzztime. Ram is a person that leads by example, even before I reported to him, I would watch and learn from the way he was always able to see the bigger picture in any situation and make leadership decisions based on overall impact and not just on the specific situation in hand. Something else that I learnt from Ram, was his drive to succeed and never sway from his mission, regardless of external factors. When I took over the product team and reported directly to Ram, he was instrumental in my growth and was always available to provide advice, but trusted me make the calls, even if they were difficult and not always correct. Ram has been the most influential Mentor in my business life and without him, I would not be where I am today. From a personal perspective, I view him as a friend and dedicated family man. Ram is the type of person you want to follow and I would be happy to work for any organization that brings him in to lead, if I had the chance to do so again. ”
