At our co-founded company, ThirdMotion, we pioneered amazing 3D technology and built a novel platform to store and serve 3D graphics across mobile & web.. On the engineering side he built a scalable content storage and distribution system that revolutionized how 3D content was stored and served on the web. When marketing projects developed that required ad hoc languages and toolsets, Randy could often learn them overnight. In one project we worked on for Paramount Pictures / Star Trek, he picked up 5 new web languages in a few weeks just to get the project done -- all while on "vacation" in Hawaii. At the executive level, I often felt like there was no company problem too hard that Randy couldn't help navigate. He managed startup financing, business development networking, pitch presentations, lead generation, and we navigating some complex and difficult HR problems scaling down the company. His leadership style is always calm -- always - and he garnered the respect from everyone for his technical brilliance, his great sense of humor, and his logical approach to problem solving.
