There is freely available an RFP to help one purchase a new POS system. I was part of the team that wrote it. The following week, one of the team members took it to one of their customers. 4 people in 3 days put a POS RFP on the street. This major company figured out that saved them over $100,000 just in getting everyone together to create this RFP. Not only does it help buy the system, but it helps in defining the test scenarios.
