David, as usual, excellent advice. I took the CISSP exam a few years ago. Studied my butt off on 7 out of the 8 domains and I bet you can guess which one cost me the "PASS" on the exam. I didn't know anything about physical security and the test questions quickly became all about it. I'd say, study for the CISSP just for the knowledge, but don't sleep on the Physical Security domain because you don't feel like it's relevant to your job.
