How can you balance engineering excellence with speed and agility?
Agile doesn't mean agile frameworks or more process. Agile is fine but learning how to break work down to it's smallest unit of value is more important. Don't spend time on agile frameworks if your process and technology working together can't deliver a single code change to production every day. Once you have that capability, layering in process may or may not hurt delivery and engineering effectiveness.

How can you balance engineering excellence with speed and agility?
Don't waste time with trying to define more than one clear outcome. Focus on hypothesis-driven development rather than trying to predict and over-plan. Default to speed and fast feedback and get to building quickly. Try to think in hours and days rather than weeks or months to get feedback.
