    In December 2003, following a 1-year stint as a volunteer teacher in a small village in Namibia, I founded Mondesa Youth Opportunities (MYO). MYO, <www.mondesayouth.org> is an intensely focused education subsidy program operating in the township of Mondesa in Western Namibia. MYO has slowly grown to 110 students in grades 2 - 8 and is now largely considered the premier education-based NGO operating in Namibia. MYO has slowly grown to 110 students in grades 2 - 8 and is now largely considered the premier education-based NGO operating in Namibia. We have an excellent reputation and very solid local leadership. Over 98% of donations to MYO are applied to goods and services that directly impact our students--we have no executive or non-operational overhead costs.
