“I highly recommend Sai for several reasons stemming from my experience with him before he studied abroad, during his study abroad experience, and after he returned. Sai's ambitious personal and academic goals led him to pursue living and experiencing Paris, France. I worked with him through Austin College's Center for Global Learning and helped to facilitate the process. During the pre-departure phase of study abroad, Sai was consistently punctual, an active participant in group discussions, and he completed all of this assignments in a timely manner despite his hectic academic schedule and involvement with on campus organizations like Model United Nations. Furthermore I worked with him while he was abroad in a General Studies 201 (Cross-Cultural Interaction) course. He was always timely in his responses, his attention to detail, and being receptive to constructive criticism. If he had a question, he made sure to both email and call to get clarification of the situation at hand. Also, because Paris is a center of tourism, Sai took great pains to break away from the "American Bubble" and experience different aspects of Parisian culture through involvement in a choir located in the suburbs of Paris and regularly attending group activities with locals who identified with his religious goals. Upon his return, he produced a Digital Story as the capstone for the GS201 course and was insistent on having his assignment fully completed in a timely manner. Sai is always courteous, thorough, and detail oriented. He truly seeks to learn and communicate effectively--which is what I respect most about him.”
