I teach a Business Analytics elective course in the MBA Program through the Farmer School of Business. In this course, you will be exposed to some of the most common, sophisticated marketing measurement techniques in use today. Effective business and marketing strategies are rooted in data. The best business leaders use data to plan campaigns and then measure their effects on the backend. They learn from the past to inform future actions. With advancement in technology came the ability to collect and store more data than ever before. This data has become more granular across all dimensions, allowing for new analytics techniques to be applied and deeper insights to be generated.

The course is designed to provide business professionals the foundation they need to visualize data to tell a compelling story that drives a call to action. Students learn how to apply analytic techniques to data, but we focus more on how to identity the real problem to be solved and the interpretation of the output.

      * Driving data and quantitative literacy across campus - all students, regardless of major, needs to be able to understand data. I designed workshops around Data Analytics and Technical development.
      * Establish Miami University as a go-to resource for analytics needs in the region - through corporate relationships, I identified opportunities to utilize faculty and students to support analytic problems faced by our corporate sponsors.
      * Develop a professional development training program - data informed decision making is a skill needed in every industry. Through CADS we created a mini-certificate program geared toward working professionals interested in deepening their analytics skills.

"Steiger led her analytics team to influence data-driven decisions on financial goals, process improvement and efficiencies, productivity reporting mechanisms, and collaboration across the business.

She grew the use of predictive/prescriptive analytics, increasing the number of projects using these techniques by at least 30 percent; supported the deployment of automated machine-learning platform DataRobot across 10 corporate missions; and worked with senior leaders to gain support for analytics in setting business goals.

Steiger’s Analyst Development Program and Continuing Education Program, both focused on educating existing talent, contributed to increased employee feedback scores."
