At GTB (formerly known as Team Detroit), the formation and evolution of our competitive targeting and incremental gains hypothesis in the auto shopping process, was well planned and coordinated execution across many parties; and years in the making.

    Conquest initiatives had been planned irregularly and primarily around major vehicle launches, participating in other media channels' spikes in awareness and interest. However, it required many coordinated resources, including development of relevant and dynamic landing page content unique to the competitive search query, consumer intent and locality. Initially, conquest was not built as a sustainable "always-on" initiative, UNTIL the Tier 2 BuyFordNow.com sites were launched, enabling a customized experience and value proposition. The Gartner study (see video link) features this "years in the making" successful strategy.
