•Intensive 9 week professional education program equipping students with competencies in health informatics, health IT, healthcare policy and services, operational models of healthcare systems, workflow, process redesign and project management, and use of electronic health record (EHR) and health information exchange (HIE) software systems
•Hands-on experience with multiple EHRs and related Health IT software, including Epic, Allscripts, athenahealth, Cerner, eClinicalWorks, Greenway…•Intensive 9 week professional education program equipping students with competencies in health informatics, health IT, healthcare policy and services, operational models of healthcare systems, workflow, process redesign and project management, and use of electronic health record (EHR) and health information exchange (HIE) software systems
•Hands-on experience with multiple EHRs and related Health IT software, including Epic, Allscripts, athenahealth, Cerner, eClinicalWorks, Greenway, LabCorp orders and results, OpenEMR, Orion Health HIE, STC immunization and disease surveillance registries; HL7 message creation; workshop on use of SQL in managing database information; and data analytics (MySQL Server and MS Access).
•Ten day practicum experience at industry, government or healthcare organizations
•Completion of a health informatics and health IT research project and presentation of findings in a poster forum judged by industry professionals -
