The most common mistakes are as follows Halo Affect: When an employer bases an employee's performance review on one main strength/trait and forgets to evaluate all other aspects of their role. Bias: This happens when an employer bases their whole review on a conscious or sub-conscience feeling towards that person. Avoiding negative feedback: This happens in part based on the halo effect or even sometimes based on Bias. An employer avoids negative feedback, therefore hindering the employee's opportunity to improve or grow.
