“Sidonia is one of the most brilliant people I have ever had the pleasure of working with. At Mason Recreation, she has done it all. From handling data and reconciliations with Business Services to working manager shifts at every recreational facility to running in-service emergency preparedness sessions for Aquatics staff, there's not a unit at Mason Recreation that has not been made better through Sidonia's work and talent. It was no surprise that she was recognized as the Fall 2022 Employee of the Semester for the Recreation and Athletics Complex. The recipient of that award is selected by the staff of each department and approved by the administration, thus showing that Sidonia's efforts have been valued by both her coworkers and supervisors. Her ability to handle crises is also exceptional. Once, while at work, Sidonia had to provide first aid to a child that badly injured themselves in multiple areas of their head and body while skating. While other staff around her were nervous and flustered, Sidonia took charge of the situation and applied proper medical care with grace and professionalism while emergency services were on their way. That was her first time responding to a medical crisis. As she is certified in practicing CPR as well as teaching CPR certification courses through the American Red Cross, she couldn't have handled it better. This story perfectly captures the essence of her leadership, always calm and collected in the face of emergency and able to perform exceptionally under pressure. Her leadership skills were further developed in the President's Leadership Cohort that we took together alongside other brilliant student leaders. Even in a room of some of the most talented and accomplished Mason students, she consistently stood out in the best way: being uniquely extraordinary even amidst the unique and extraordinary. We learned from the university's president directly about the grand challenges facing humanity and various aspects of diversity, equity, and inclusion as facets of leadership. Needless to say, Sidonia excelled in the course and consistently contributed to the value of the course for her classmates. The above in consideration, I strongly recommend Sidonia for any workplace looking for an innovative and emotionally-intelligent leader able to tackle challenges with grace and purpose. To any recruiters or hiring managers reading this, please feel free to reach out at any time with questions. I am more than happy to serve as a professional reference for Sidonia.”

That’s why we’re asking you to join us on this global day of generosity. Help us achieve our goals and carry out our mission of ending child marriage in the United States once and for all!
