How do you engage your audience and encourage interaction or participation in your oral presentation?
Use polls sparingly and strategically. For instance ask the audience a question so you can understand their knowledge level. "How many people have heard of ....?". Or "has this ever happened to anyone?" Or ask a question at the end to capture the audience's learning. "On a scale of 0 to 10 how much more do you know now than at the beginning?" Refrain from polling simply to give the audience something to do. use them only if the results of the poll directly relate to what you will present (eg. 70% of the audience thinks X, in this presentation you will learn why X is not the case).

How do you communicate uncertainty and risk in evidence synthesis for policy?
Quantifying and qualifying the uncertainty is key. Standard tools such as risk of bias or GRADE assessments are academic exercises, but they do not have direct implications to help interpret the data. If either of those assessments shows some anomaly, it is up to the analyst to interpret that within the context of the conclusions for the reader.

How can researchers use social media and blogs to increase the visibility and impact of their publications?
Be sure to re-work your content to be public-friendly. That is simply and clearly describe the problem you are solving and what the answer is from your work. Describe *everything* in plain, everyday language that people can understand. Even when targeting other highly educated people, they will not be familiar with your work, so you must make it super duper simple.
