IBM’s Bluemix Girls' Night program was developed to offer women entrepreneurs and developers a great opportunity to mix and mingle with smart, successful women in their local area who understand technology. Today, leading companies are facing real challenges finding people with the right skills to fill their IT needs. At the same time, there is a noticeable gap between the number of men and women filling those opportunities. The program goal is to minimize that gap by helping to empower, enable, and nurture talented women to be successful.
Partnering with local women's groups, user groups, and trade associations, the program goal is to bring together women - from students and new developers, to veteran developers and engineers, and entrepreneurs and executives. Though our efforts we helped connect women with mentors, provide them with education, and drive their interest in long-term careers in Information Technology.
