  • Mechanical modelling and safety regulation of a smart-watch system

    -

    Performed a numerical modeling and simulations (ANSYS and Solidworks) on each material to ascertain which ones generate the least thermo-mechanical stresses in the system. Concluded the best material as a heat spreader to be Graphite.

  • Design and Topology optimization of a 3D Bridge using Ansys and Matlab

    -

    Topology optimization was carried out on the bridge structure to get the best design with mass constraint. Design optimization was done using SQP algorithm in matlab and in Ansys to find the required dimensions for the Bridge with objective as minimum deflection.

  • Fractional Factorial Design and Regression Analysis of Paper Helicopters

    -

    The goal of the experiment was to improve the design of paper helicopter. Calculated ANOVA for all the test factors and response variables. Conducted Regression analysis, plotted pareto charts and half normal charts. Optimized The response variable considering regression equation.

  • Analysis of notched plate for stress distribution as well as the maximum strain produced using FEA analysis

    A finite element based approach was used using ABAQUS and Matlab to study the stress distribution and the displacement of the notched plate. The two methods used was found to be in sync with each other.

  • Construction and analysis of Trombe Wall varying different properties using ANSYS

    -

    Constructed a Trombe wall using Solidworks and Carried out velocity and temperature analysis in ANSYS. All these analyses were used to show the cost effectiveness of the wall.

  • Analysis of vapor compression refrigeration cycle with turbine

    Analyzed the electricity cost with respect to power input to a refrigeration cycle using different refrigerant (R22, R134a, Ammonia). Taking all the costs into consideration cycle with expansion valve and ammonia as refrigerant was found out to be most cost effective.

  • Stress Analysis of 2-D Finite Width Plate with a (circular/elliptical) Hole

    -

    Stress analysis was carried out for 2-dimensional Aluminum plate with circular/elliptical hole. Convergence study was carried out with the help of Finite element analysis using Abaqus. The critical diameter was found out based on Von-mises Yield criterion.

  • Manufacturing and study of mechanical properties of a hybrid composite

    -

    Prepared an entirely new hybrid composite made up of date palm leaves, glass fiber and epoxy. Produced promising results i.e. when the percentage of date palm leaves were increased in the composite then strength of the composite was increasing.
