I attended four workshops that have helped me focus on my strengths and how to use them in my current job. With the different workshops, my understanding of how to use all my strengths was improved. I attended a workshop on using my strengths which gave me great ways of how I can use my stregths of achiever, maximizer, consistency, and woo. Another workshop I attended was the professional development one. It had professionals come in and speak to us on any questions we had whether it was interviewing, resumes, or anything. It was beneficial to discuss with professionals and helped me when creating my resume. The main goal of SELP is to develop our 7 Student Development Outcomes. One outcome that I made the most improvement on was independence and interdependence. I learned when it is appropriate to do tasks alone and when to ask for help. An example of this is when I am at work I do most tasks independently. When I know a job has to be done by a certain time and I am unaware if I can finish, I ask my co-worker Kadi to help as well. This is a great way to accomplish the task on time and get two different opinions on how it can be done. Overall, the SELP program has taught me how to become a better student employee and how to use these skills in a career in the future.
