What do you do if you want to start a social entrepreneurship venture in the non-profit sector?
Like any other business, it's best to identify a need or pain point. What is the problem that you intend to resolve with your venture? Next, ask the community that you would be serving how they would solve their problem. Far too often, well-meaning people waste time and resources on solutions that don't meet the actual needs of those they intend to serve. Never assume that you know more about an issue than the people who are living with it. Finally, I'd assemble a group of people with expertise in providing the resources desired by the community in need, including members of the community. They are the experts on their lived experiences, so they'll provide invaluable insight on creating the best path forward.
