“Tanya is easily one of the best leaders that I’ve had the pleasure to work with in my 15-year career thus far, even though we only had the opportunity to work with each other for 1.5 years. I never had to drag my feet to work when I was on Tanya’s team. She is approachable for folks at all job levels and she’s always positive-minded. She is also very well-respected in the Global Mobility industry and is always willing to coach, guide and share knowledge with others. Here are the top few things that stood out for me (amongst many others) when Tanya was my people leader: 1. She coached me to become a better people leader without fear of judgement. I was a relatively new people leader when Tanya became my boss, and she coached me through turnovers on the team, leading a team during the pandemic, as well as considerations when we outsourced work or managed work in-house. 2. I learned a ton from Tanya while she navigated through the pandemic for the first time, just like every other company. She took a leading role in building the remote work policy and program for all of Expedia without any best practices to refer to, or frame of reference. We managed to design the remote work policy within 3 months (it took much longer for all of the senior leaders in the company to align on an approach, as some were more conservative than others) and we launched a clear policy and processes within a year to support remote work requests for the entire company. 3. Tanya gave me many opportunities to learn, which enabled me to progress from being a Mobility operations person to a program manager. For example, she brought me along the entire journey of conducting a Mobility RFP and shared her knowledge with me during the process. In addition, she gave me the opportunity to play a significant role in building Expedia’s remote work policy during the pandemic alongside her. I do believe that learning these two key areas from Tanya (managing large scale projects and building a new program) enabled me to secure my next role with Klaviyo, which required me to build the entire Global Mobility function (including immigration and tax) from the ground up. 4. She has continued to mentor me even though we’ve both moved onto different opportunities and she never hesitates to share her knowledge with me. Tanya’s a gem and any company/function/team she works for would be so blessed to have her. I would work with her again anytime!”
