Overview and update on RESTful Web Services for DICOM. Includes how to use WADO-RS to retrieve, STOW-RS to store and QIDO-RS to query studies, series or instances. RESTful services are based on HTTP 1.1 the primary transport protocol used by the Web. These services may be particularly interesting for countries where most of the infrastructure is based on the Internet. They are also useful for cross-enterprise access to medical images because HTTP can traverse firewalls.
