The Mile-High Poetry Club: Long Distance Love Poems
Kindle Direct Publishing
In 2019, I flew around the earth...twice. I clocked so many airborne miles and hours while indulging in a secret passion, poetry. Something about the altitude, and maybe the champagne, that always set my pen alight with notions of love. The vast majority of these poems were written above 30,000 ft. Thus, The Mile-High Poetry Club was born.

The vast majority of these poems were written above 30,000 ft. Thus, The Mile-High Poetry Club was born.
This book is filled with poems of various lengths and styles about love, dreams, hope, aspiration, inspiration and the occasional heartbreak. Join me on a journey of the heart as I invite you into my soul-space for a look-see.
I had planned to publish this, my 6th book, with a new publisher–as poetry is out of alignment with the the beloved publisher of my first four commercial titles. (My 5th book is a graphic novel currently unannounced but in production.) Then the global pandemic struck our planet and I thought, the world could use some love at this very moment. So I decided to forego the commercial publishing route and release the healing power of love into the world as quickly as possible.
I hope you enjoy reading my poems as much as I enjoyed writing them. I never intended to share these with the world as poetry has always been a private passion. A few lucky lovers have received my musings as gifts. I posted a few micro-poems on instagram in 2020 as my passion for the art form intensified. And now, this. Welcome to my circle of love! Place your seat and tray table in the upright position and fasten your seatbelt for takeoff! -
Subtle Acts of Exclusion: How to understand, identify and stop microaggressions
Berrett-Koehler Publishers
This practical, accessible, nonjudgmental book is the first to help individuals and organizations recognize and prevent microaggressions so that all employees can feel a sense of belonging in their workplace.

Our workplace and society are growing more diverse, but are we supporting inclusive cultures? While overt racism, sexism, ableism, and other forms of discrimination are relatively easy to spot, we cannot neglect the subtler everyday actions that normalize exclusion. Many have heard the term microaggression, but not everyone fully understands what they are or how to recognize them and stop them from happening.
In this book, Tiffany Jana and Michael Baran offer a clearer, more accessible term, subtle acts of exclusion, or SAEs, to emphasize the purpose and effects of these actions. After all, people generally aren’t trying to be aggressive. Usually, they’re trying to say something nice, learn more about a person, be funny, or build closeness. But whether in the form of exaggerated stereotypes, backhanded compliments, unfounded assumptions, or objectification, SAE are damaging to our coworkers, friends, and acquaintances.
Jana and Baran give simple and clear tools to identify and address such acts, offering scripts and action plans for everybody involved: the subject, initiator, and observer. Knowing how to have these conversations in an open-minded, honest way will help us build trust and create stronger workplaces and healthier, happier people and communities.Other authorsSee publication -

B Corps are a global movement of more than 2,700 companies in 60 countries--like Patagonia, Ben & Jerry's, Kickstarter, Danone North America, and Eileen Fisher--that are using the power of business as a force for good. B Corps have been certified to have met rigorous standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency. This book is the authoritative guide to the what, why, and how of B Corp certification.
Coauthors Ryan Honeyman and Dr. Tiffany Jana spoke with the leaders of over 200 B Corps from around the world to get their insights on becoming a Certified B Corp, improving their social and environmental performance, and building a more inclusive economy. The second edition has been completely revised and updated to include a much stronger focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI). These changes are important because DEI can no longer be a side conversation--it must be a core value for any company that aspires to make money and make a difference.
While this book is framed around the B Corp movement, any company, regardless of size, industry, or location, can use the tools contained here to learn how to build a better business. As the authors vividly demonstrate, using business as a force for good can help you attract and retain the best talent, distinguish your company in a crowded market, and increase trust in your brand.Other authorsSee publication -
Erasing Institutional Bias: How to Create Systemic Change for Organizational Inclusion
Berrett-Koehler Publishers
All humans have bias, and as a result, so do the institutions we build. Internationally sought after diversity consultant Tiffany Jana offers concrete ways for anyone to work against institutional bias no matter what their position is in an organization.

Internationally sought after diversity consultant Tiffany Jana offers concrete ways for anyone to work against institutional bias no matter what their position is in an organization.
While it is easy to identify intentionally built systems of oppression like Jim Crow or the paralysis caused by the glass ceiling for women in the workplace, confronting systems that perpetuate subtle, unconscious bias is much harder. Erasing Institutional Bias will help people tackle structural bias regardless of their positional power. Eliminating systemic bias can seem an insurmountable task from the vantage point of an ordinary individual, yet Jana and Mejias empower readers to recognize that each of us has the ability to affect systemic bias through a deliberate, coordinated effort. Institutional bias afflicts all industries --including business, education, health care, government, tech, the arts, nonprofits, and finance and banking. Among the types of institutional bias addressed are hiring bias, gender bias, racial bias, occupational bias, and customer bias. Jana and Mejias focus their attention on bias in the workplace and give readers practices and activities to create organizational trust to challenge these implicit biases. Erasing Institutional Bias will help people recognize that each of us has the power to affect systemic bias. Each of us can evaluate our own current role in perpetuating systemic bias and define our new role in breaking down systemic bias. -

2018 Best for the World- Overall

It is commonplace for business leaders to discuss how they minimize the harm their businesses do to communities and the environment. These days, everyone seems to be talking about “sustainability.

These days, everyone seems to be talking about “sustainability.
But a small group of pioneering businesspeople is setting a higher bar. Instead of minimizing harm, they seek to maximize the positive impact of their businesses. Instead of limiting negative externalities, they actively and purposefully seek a regenerative economy by operating their businesses in more thoughtful and rigorous ways.
Many of them are, in our opinion, the best businesses in the world. More certainly, they have subjected themselves to a strict assessment that indicates that they are the best for the world.
These companies redefining business success are the enterprises we celebrate in our Best for the World coverage. The 1,800-plus businesses around the world that have undergone the B Impact Assessment and certified as B Corporations – as verified by the independent nonprofit B Lab* – are all leaders demonstrating the many ways businesses can be a force for good in the world. The B Impact Assessment gives companies a score based on how they perform on metrics for impact on their communities, the environment, workers and customers.
Here we highlight the businesses that B Lab has determined have scored in the top 10 percent of all Certified B Corporations on the assessment. Companies that have scored in the top percentiles across a majority of the assessment’s categories, based on company size, are honored as Best for the World Overall, and companies that have scored in the top percentiles in a given category, again based on company size, are honored as Best for the Environment, Best for Community, Best for Workers and Best for Customers. -
