How does the simplex method compare to other optimization techniques?
Agree with Charles' comment. Many complex business and logistics problems can be decomposed and solved using hybrid approaches that lead to effective and workable solutions. It is best to really understand the problem at hand, the applicable assumptions and the problem's potential future incarnations within the business before jumping to a solution approach. A perfectly good solution today may not scale effectively, limiting future business growth.
