“Todd is one of the those rare individuals who sees the emergency health services (EHS) as a world without boarders. Notwithstanding Todd’s substantial business acumen and his excellent customer service ethic, his commitment to the professions he serves in times of crisis is second to none. On two occasions , to date, Todd has shared his substantial FirstWatch resources and talented staff to allow first responders to share solutions regarding newly emerging infectious diseases when there was no one else to provide such a service. The sessions which FirstWatch sponsored for both H1N1 and the recent Ebola threat, allowed concerned and often confused managers and line staff to listen to frontline practitioners, supervisors and medical specialists in weekly interactive session . The effect these presentations had on the hundreds who listened in or the thousands who have subsequently reviewed session recordings facilitated by FirstWatch was said to be calming and effective as these shared good practices used only days early to effectively mitigate both staff and patient risk to this virus. It is said that professionals are as professionals do. If this is indeed the case Mr. Stout can proudly stand convicted of selfless professionalism on all counts. ”

Ebola preparedness for North American paramedic services
In the first weeks of coming to terms with Ebola as it was a public concern in North America, there was little specific guidance for paramedic services. The Paramedic Chiefs of Canada helped fill the void by organizing webinars with people who were on the frontlines of North American paramedic preparedness for Ebola. We were able to package together many resources quickly and make them available on the web while paramedic services were looking for this kind of information.
