If you are feeling overwhelmed, I'd ask you a few things: 1. How are you managing your time? Are you time blocking? 2. Are you planning out your days and weeks? 3. Are you doing other people's work? 4. Are you getting back work back from your employees? 5. Who can you ask for help? Answer these questions and you should be able to work through your issues.

First, plan the day before for your next day. Second, time block. Schedule time when you are at your best to do the most challenging work. Third, establish a process. Don't try to do everything at once. Fourth, eliminate distractions. Tell your teammates, "Hey! I'm gonna be going deep on this work for the next hour. Will pop my head back up at 11 am."

First, make them feel like they are being listened to and you understand their issues. "Your voice matters. And this change isn't permanent, meaning we want to continue to iterate and adapt to fit the best needs of the employee, company and client." And what's really important is you take their feedback seriously. The worst thing you can do is listen and not do anything. And yes, resistance isn't a decision made based on knowing all the facts. It's a knee jerk response and a lot of time there's an echo chamber. Finally, talk 1:1 to people who have influence and get them on board.

If you wrote a press release and the media didn’t understand it, you should quit doing PR. But if you are determined to learn from this, there’s a few things: 1. Ask the reporters. “I want to send you pitches and press releases that are valuable to your beat. How can i provide you with better story ideas and news announcements? 2. Stick to common sense language. Don’t use marketing language, don’t use super technical language, and don’t over exaggerate. Give the release to your most junior person and ask if this makes sense. 3. Include in a release the problem that your client or company is solving. No one cares about the feature you updated in your app. They want to know how this is unique and solves customers problem.

The answer is simple. The next time your client has an announcement, plan the PR component last. And PR is media relations, although some idiot will disagree. So put media relations last. What’s the message? How can we use that message to create content? How can we socialize that content? And THEN plan media relations. Or even ask yourself How could a content and social first approach to a campaign increase media coverage? And there are so many social media pros on LinkedIn.
