PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a window as small as possible so that the contents displayed in the window can be displayed continuously as they are by reforming the window in accordance with selected setting around the information displayed on a displayed device. SOLUTION: A text processing application works in a window 300. A GUI generates a scroll bar by using a scroll bar icon 330 and a user becomes possible to scroll a text in the window 320. In response to the scrolling, the GUI dynamically reforms a window frame 332 so that the frame 332 can surround each line of the scrolled text. Then the GUI generates a scroll bar by using another scroll bar icon 331 and the user can become possible to scroll a text in another window 310. Thus the GUI dynamically reforms the window frame 332 around a scrolled text in accordance with the scrolling.

The computer-implemented method includes the steps of displaying a panel container on a display and, in response to a first command from user controls to select a first front panel in the panel container, horizontally rotating the first front panel to a central column if the first front panel is not in the central column. The method also includes the step of in response to the first command to select a second front panel, vertically rotating the second front panel to the central row if the second front panel is not in the central row.

  • Method and equipment for assignment of resource

    Filed JP JPH0877028A

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and system for assigning resources to plural processes. SOLUTION: This method includes a step for displaying a graphic expressing the assignment of resources assigned to a first process and dynamically changing the assignment according to the operation of the graphic. In addition, the method is provided with a step for displaying plural graphics in which each graphic expresses the assignment of the resources assigned to each process, dynamically…

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and system for assigning resources to plural processes. SOLUTION: This method includes a step for displaying a graphic expressing the assignment of resources assigned to a first process and dynamically changing the assignment according to the operation of the graphic. In addition, the method is provided with a step for displaying plural graphics in which each graphic expresses the assignment of the resources assigned to each process, dynamically changing the first assignment of the resources to be assigned to the first process according to the operation of the graphic, calculating the second assignment of the resources which is no longer assigned to the first process and distributing it to a residual process according to a distribution rate. This system includes a display device for displaying a graphic expressing at least the first assignment of the resources assigned to the first process and a means for dynamically changing the first assignment according to the operation of the graphic.

The display screen has at least one edge, but typically is rectangular in shape having four edges. The first step of the method includes moving the window on the display screen in a direction consistent with the movement of the pointer. To do so, the user positions and activates the pointer over the window using the user controls. The second step includes automatically scrolling the window substantially off the display screen such that only a portion of the window remains visible at the edge of the display screen. This step occurs when the user has activated and positioned the pointer over the window and then moved the activated pointer to one of the edges of the display screen for a predetermined amount of time (e.g., two seconds).
