  • Image filter based on row identification

    Issued US 9576215

System and techniques for an image filter based on row identification are described herein. A crop row center represented in an image of a crop row can be calculated. A filter corresponding to a set of expected crop characteristics of the crop row can be obtained. Elements in the image can then be categorized based on applying the filter to the image when the filter anchored on the crop row.

A modular device, system and associated method, used to enhance the quality and output speed of any generic GPS engine is provided. The modular device comprises an inertial subsystem based on a solid state gyroscope having a plurality of accelerometers and a plurality of angular rate sensors designed to measure linear acceleration and rotation rates around a plurality of axes. The modular inertial device may be placed in the data stream between a standard GPS receiver and a guidance device to enhance the accuracy and increase the frequency of positional solutions. Thus, the modular inertial device accepts standard GPS NMEA input messages from the source GPS receiver, corrects and enhances the GPS data using computed internal roll and pitch information, and produces an improved, more accurate, NMEA format GPS output at preferably 2 times the positional solution rate using GPS alone. The positional solution frequency using the present invention may increase to as much as 5 times that...

The first GPS receiver is located at a fixed, known position such as at the center of the pivoting irrigation system while the second GPS receiver is located on a moving portion of the irrigation system. The first GPS receiver compares the GPS receiver reported position against the actual position and reports by wire or radio link the position differences to the second GPS, where the differences are used to remove errors from the second receiver's measured position.

A system for generating a non-visual notification of a machine condition includes a machine condition sensor configured to sense a machine condition. A notification generation controller is in communication with the machine condition sensor. The notification generation controller generates a notification according to the sensed machine condition. In a feedback configuration the notification generation controller compares an integral of a rate of change of the sensed machine condition with a threshold to trigger the generation of a notification. In a guidance configuration the notification generation controller uses the deviation of the machine condition from a guidance direction determined with a steering algorithm to control the generation of a notification. A non-visual notification generator is in communication with the notification generation controller and generates a non-visual notification based on the notification.

  • DNAV-212 Software Package

Software package to control and monitor DNAV-212 receivers. This software also provided a nice solution for GIS data recording and performance measurements. It might not seem special today but back in the early days of GPS, manufactures did not supply software with their black boxes. Starlink supplied this package which made the GPS unit very useful out of the box. It was a DOS program!

  • GPS Inline Amplifiers

GPS inline amplifiers were used to extend antenna cables. These units were in high demand for use in cellular towers, timing systems, and GPS test during production. With Strarlink line-amp you could extend over the normal limit of 50 feet. We were surprised how well these devices sold. They were made in several gain and filtering versions.
