The ASCE Mid-Pacific 2021 Transportation Competition prompt involved improving Fresno County's transportation system and better connecting the rural cities with the city of Fresno. Our team implemented a new bus route and schedule that connects the rural cities and a fare-reduction program and I helped on the design team, which included designing new bus stops and creating base maps.

Cal Civic Hacks Ideathon was a three day event where each team would prioritize an issue involving transportation or wildfiles and develop an action plan to address the issue. My team focused on transportation accessibility in areas where wildfires are prominent and analyzed areas that are low-income/have high percentages of households with no vehicles and areas with a high percentage of disabled/elderly people. We came up with an emergency bus evacuation system that could go to those areas…
