“It was my pleasure to have the opportunity to interact with Valerie as a Labor Representative. In her capacity as Director of Human Resources she was ultimately responsible for many labor decisions. To this end she and I both worked to represent both the corporation and the employee. She was intelligent in her decisions, honest and forthright. She was a firm believer in honesty and following the rules as they applied to all personnel. She made no distinction between Union and Management when rules were breeched or situations existed that threatened the GM Concept of Zero Tolerance. She applied the rules with a deep measure of dedication and concern and she insured that all bases were covered to insure that all parties received justice. She never allowed personal feelings to interfere with her carrying out her job.
