What do you do if your career takes a hit and you need to rebuild your confidence?
Such an important point to highlight! For me, I was able to do that because of my New York City real estate investments. They appreciation and the rent gave me the ability to give up my golden handcuffs and pursue what I really want to do. And now I am part of a $5 million grant to commercialize technology to help folks like me with visual impairment. I’m the happiest I’ve ever been!

What do you do if your public speaking skills are lacking in your late career?
I find being a New Yorker quite helpful with public speaking because there are always people around. Building confidence and being comfortable with my voice is something that I keep working on and find it empowering to do it on the streets of New York City. Guess Jay Z was right.

How do you handle negative or conflicting customer feedback?
For folks with visual impairment, we are finding that cost is a major factor, in part because of the pervasive structural ableism and the abysmal rate of employment for folks with blindness and low vision. For this reason, we are exploring B2B business models in which our navigation tools are part of efforts to obtain employment and succeed once employed. #disabilitysuperpowers #visuallyimpaiired
