What's the best way to tell a recruiter how much you expect to be paid?
Many states have implemented “pay transparency” which means you as the candidate can calibrate your expectations with the posted salary range. You can ask about other considerations like annual or sign-on bonus, and be flexible based on the potential “total comp” package you’re comfortable with. Have the conversation early & often with your recruiter, and if the numbers don’t make sense then save yourself some time and make sure you’re targeting the correct level and functional discipline.
