The highlight of the missions involve feeding the poor during Easter week, which when you speak with food pantry volunteers, is one of the slowest weeks of the year when the homeless and poor are the least served by the community.

    When I moved to Kansas City, there were no Easter Week Missions here so I worked with a team of Regnum Christi members to launch in 2016. We've been doing it every year since, but had to take a break this year due to the COVID-19 lockdown. Our mission in Kansas City focuses on the North Kansas City community and our home base is St. Charles Borromeo. Mission participants help this parish with work projects on Friday, and then we collect food in the neighborhoods on Saturday and restock the pantry at St. Charles to carry them through a tough time of year.
