    A principal focus of the Mending Minds Foundation is the disease Pediatric Autoimmune Neuropsychiatric Disorder Associated with Streptococcal Infections (PANDAS) which was first described at length in 1998 to describe sudden onset of obsessive compulsive disorder symptoms and other physical and behavioral changes in children following Streptococcal infection.
