    In 2014, I revived the dormant healthcare committee in order to communicate the exciting and disruptive changes ongoing in the life sciences and healthcare ecosystems. Some recent programs: (12/5/2019) AI in Medical Devices, featuring lawyers, Columbia faculty, entrepreneurs and investors; (6/06/2019): Big Data and Precision Medicine; (3/7/2019) Big Data as a Healthcare Delivery System Disruptor, etc. .

Response to the 2018-2019 programs to date has been fantastic! YWIB Metro NY has expanded in scope and geography, as the network of involved schools and partners at leading life science organizations in the NY metro area grows exponentially. An annual highlight of our work is the Weill Cornell Medicine mentorship program connecting first-year medical school…

    YWIB provides career education and opportunities for NY-area high school and middle school female students interested in STEM careers. Response to the 2018-2019 programs to date has been fantastic! YWIB Metro NY has expanded in scope and geography, as the network of involved schools and partners at leading life science organizations in the NY metro area grows exponentially. An annual highlight of our work is the Weill Cornell Medicine mentorship program connecting first-year medical school students with NYC high school girls interested in medicine. This program is now in its fifth year and accepts roughly 30 participants out of an application pool of ~100.

Our events are typically sold out, with programs attracting leaders of NYC's life sciences business and scientific communities. Some recent healthcare networking/ educational events include "Transitioning to CEO," for Life Scientist-Entrepreneurs, July 2016 and "The Business of Building a Precision Medicine Initiative;" April 2016. Look for our upcoming Spring 2019 programs on healthcare delivery transformation and cancer precision medicine in an era of big data.
