The Alumni Board consists of decade representatives (one per thousand living alumni in each decade), a faculty representative, the senior class president, and the officers. The president, president-elect, vice presidents, vice presidents-elect and secretary comprise the officers or executive committee. The Board of Visitors provides guidance to the college in the pursuit and maintenance of those principles and values set forth in the Statement of Purpose—found in the preamble to the College Constitution—by advising the chair of the Board of Trustees, the president of the college, and other college officials (see Board of Visitors Bylaws (PDF). Board members are nominated by alumni, friends, and staff of the college. New members are selected by a nominating committee.

I have extensive experience working in reputation management, crisis communications and crisis management and can bring these and other skills to the board room. I was a member of the National Association of Corporate Directors and am a Governance Fellow. In addition, I have completed the Director's College, the Director's Professionalism program and maintain my CEU's.

TEDxCharlotte is a locally-organized TED-licensed event created by and for the Charlotte community to highlight the talented dream-makers and risk-takers who make our community amazing and relevant.

Served as board member and later, chair of locally focused nonprofit. Work revolved around civic engagement. Since 2009, Maddrey served as primary fiduciary agent for the remaining funds.
Major City Committee initiatives included:

-- funding community needs study
-- launching initiatives
-- funding new community initiatives

I served as a Trustee for museum (www.mintmuseum.org). I served as Co-chair and, later, Chair of marketing and PR committee since 2007. During tenure, we restructured the board, built a new $50+ million museum, expanded collections, recruited and hired a new executive director.

Additional committee work included renaming, rebranding, positioning, marketing, as well as other communications issues.

Served as a board member for angel-funding group that hosted business plan presentations and networking events for potential investors and small, private companies.

Served as advisory board member for NPR affiliate, classical radio station.

Led the strategic planning and technology committee, focused on new initiatives, evaluation of secondary channel, digital migration, as well as acquisition of technology assets.
