Alexandra Wong

The Daily Record Top 100 Women Circle of Excellence awards a $3000 scholarship to a female student attending a Maryland university who demonstrates outstanding leadership, mentoring, and community service. I was recognized as the 2024 winner and attended the awards ceremony in May 2024.

Each year, the Public Health Studies Program gives the Outstanding Senior Award for Academic Excellence, Leadership, and Service to a graduating PHS major who has made a significant positive impact on their JHU community through public health related activities. I won this award alongside Cleo Blumenthal

Named 1 of 32 U.S. Rhodes Scholars in recognition of my leadership, intellect, and humanity. The Rhodes Scholarship is considered the most prestigious postgraduate scholarship in the world and funds 2-3 years of graduate studies at the University of Oxford.

Recognized for efforts toward social or environmental impacts by UNESCO

1 of 154 students recognized nationally for for their commitment to creating positive change in communities locally and around the world. Fellows are nominated by Campus Compact member presidents and chancellors, who are invited to select one outstanding student from their campus each year. Hopkins President Daniels wrote me a letter of recommendation, and I am currently working with the Center for Social Concern on a social justice project.

Recognized as 1 of the top 6 disability youth advocates combating ableism in education nationwide. Received a $1000 scholarship.

Awarded a $1500 grant to fund internship with US House of Representatives (Representative Katie Porter's DC office)

• Recognized as one of the top three emerging deaf/hard-of-hearing undergraduate neuroscience researchers nationwide of 2020, first rising first-year undergraduate student award recipient in the Johns Hopkins Neuroscience Scholars Program’s history. Awarded a $20,000 multi-year grant from the NIH and NINDS to fund summer auditory neuroscience research and training.
