Individuals in this position will provide administrative support for the Student Learning Center’s increased student needs during the academic year, including but not limited to:
Responding to email and phone communications accurately and professionally
Scheduling appointments
Booking workshops
Creating engaging advertisements for Courses and Workshops
Creating newsletter and call campaigns
Processing early progress reports
Tracking student requirements met and reporting on student appointments as needed
Placing and lifting registration holds
Coordinating and delivering midterm grade reports
This position will respond to student, faculty, staff, and public inquiries as needed relative to the the Student Learning Center and keeping in mind procedures under FERPA guidelines. They also may review and/or add to student information in DegreeWorks, Banner and Trac Cloud. Individuals will also access and analyze Banner and Trac Cloud reports. Other administrative
duties will include room reservations, and management of phone and drop-in traffic as needed.
This position requires knowledge of University structure, services, programs, procedures, and practices. Employees in this position should have a strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in record keeping. The position requires daily use of various office technology and software applications. Individuals in this position will be able to interpret policies and address inquiries pertaining to student academic records.
This position provides administrative and communications support in a clear, concise, organized manner in multiple formats such as emails, letters, memos, reports, spreadsheets, for the Student Learning Center. Proofreads documents for grammar, spelling, punctuation, and basic formatting. Records and documents information accurately.
In addition, the position:
Uses our established data systems for managing student records.
Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of Academic Policies and Procedures in order to apply judgment to student requests.
Demonstrates knowledge regarding University resources to assist and refer students beyond our office.
Uses the Trac Cloud calendaring system to assist students in making appointments.
Uses appropriate software applications, especially spreadsheets, to provide administrative support to the Student Learning Center..
Refers non-standard questions and problems to appropriate University office personnel.
Serves as a point of contact for questions, concerns, and logistics.
Preferred Qualifications
Some post-secondary education plus 3-5 years of administrative experience. Ability to work effectively with a variety of personalities in a helpful, congenial, and professional manner.
Demonstrated experience in detailed and accurate record keeping. Demonstrated experience using administrative software (specifically Excel, Google Sheets).
Demonstrated use of University student information systems.
Work Schedule/Hours
Work schedule and hours are variable from10-30 hrs per week based on workload. On average, 20 hours per week is estimated.
Hours will be within this window: M-F 8:00-5:00
Months will be between August 1-May 15
