You'll be a great communicator and be able to translate your technical knowledge into an actionable direction. When you don’t have an answer, you know how to research the problem and come up with a solution. As an Applied Research Mathematician, you will work on projects that involve cryptanalysis, coding theory, number theory, discrete mathematics, statistics, probability, and many other subjects. In addition, you will have exposure to mission systems or mission knowledge.
What do we expect from you?
Plan, develop, coordinate, control, and/or perform work involving the development and application of methods for the analytic solution of problems in various subject matter fields where the exactitude of the relationships, the rigor and economy of the operations, the use of mathematical methods, and reasoning, and the logical necessity of results are the controlling considerations.
Requirements
Active Top Secret/SCI with Polygraph security clearance. Individuals without an existing clearance cannot be accepted
A degree in Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, or Computer Science is preferred and must include 2 years (approximately 24 credit hours) of advanced mathematics.
Degree and minimum years of relevant work experience are as follows:
BS + 2-11 years’ experience or;
MS + 2-9 years’ experience or;
PhD + 2-7 years’ experience
