ARTS Adjunct Faculty – Three-Dimensional Design/Sculpture

Job Description

The Department of Visual Art, Division of Arts and Humanities at Lorain County Community College is looking for adjunct instructors to teach the introductory Three-Dimensional Design courses of, foundation Three-Dimensional Design, and Sculpture. Instructors will teach 3D Design and sculpture fundamentals to students in the Department of Visual Arts and utilize the Ceramics/3D/sculpture studio space inside Stocker Center to teach traditional and innovative methods of construction, tool use and safety, and materials including but not limited to paper, cardboard, foam board, plaster, wood, plastic, found objects, clay, stone, and some metal. Instructor and students will also have access to laser cutters, CNC machines, 3D printing, and our SuperFab Lab. Curriculum/assignment preparation, supervision of students during construction, and evaluation of student projects and performance with critique and grading, as well as completion of other duties typical to a Department of Visual Arts adjunct faculty member is expected.

Qualifications

Qualifications include Masters in a 3D discipline such as sculpture, ceramics, jewelry, installation art or a Masters and 18+ credit hours, MFA preferred, teaching experience or demonstrated training experience, proficiency in the appropriate software, and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
