Expertise in audio engineering and/or lighting design and operation is essential. Set design/construction skills are a bonus. Candidates must be especially well-organized and detail-oriented, and they must have a proven track record of working successfully with children and adults. The new hire will be responsible for operating, maintaining and safeguarding the technical components of the school’s arts spaces and for maintaining the calendar of events in those spaces. As technical director, the new hire will be asked to participate fully in the artistic process in coordination with choral, dance and drama directors, exercising an ambitious vision for live performance. In addition, as manager of the arts building, they will coordinate and oversee the rental of arts spaces to organizations other than Greenwich Academy. Above all, applicants should be eager to immerse themselves fully in the life of the vibrant, ambitious arts program at the school and should be creative, positive role models for students. Applicants should be enthusiastic learners themselves and should be committed to sustaining the culture of anti-racism and anti-bias in our community. This is a year round administrative position, but the school calendar allows for some flexibility in the summer months.
