ABOUT LTI

With 30 years of experience as the exclusive provider of the (ACTFL) assessments, each year LTI delivers hundreds of thousands of language proficiency tests to companies, academic institutions, government agencies and individuals. LTI provides the language credential that businesses want, and individuals need.

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a tech savvy, ACTFL-certified Tester or Rater who holds a current certification in OPI or OPIc in Spanish to be considered to join our team.

You have a strong sense of curiosity, are detailed oriented, have excellent time management skills, and are likely described by others as a self-starter who can work well independently, as well as with your peers.

You have a record of implementing improvements to processes, procedures, or workflows, and of seeking and accepting input from other stakeholders to ensure your ideas consider the needs of all users. You likely achieve this by using tech tools (low or no-code solutions, perhaps) to make things better for your users (who could be students, colleagues, collaborators, you name it!). You have excellent written and spoken communication skills, in more than one language. To that end, you should hold an ACTFL Proficiency Certificate demonstrating a proficiency rating of Superior in at least one language and modality (and ideally in Spanish). This testing for this can be done as part of the application process if the certification has not been done recently and has since expired.

The Assessment Support Specialist directly supports LTI’s mission of providing reliable testing and rating services for all ACTFL assessments. Based on an in-depth understanding of ACTFL and/or ILR assessments, LTI test procedures, and LTI’s testing and rating platforms, the Assessment Support Specialist also serves as a Subject Matter Expert when LTI updates customer support documents and test resources for internal and external stakeholders. This role plays an integral part in LTI’s advancement toward becoming a human-centric, AI-driven organization and will have some opportunities to collaborate in these advancements. This role does not have any employee management responsibilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conducting and/or rating ACTFL assessments, following all ACTFL guidelines and best practices and participating in all re-norming sessions and recertification activities, as required by ACTFL to maintain ACTFL and/or ILR Tester/Rater certification at all times,
  • Maintaining a strong performance as an ACTFL-certified Tester/Rater with an excellent Inter-Rater Reliability average,
  • Playing an integral role on the Assessment Product Management (APM) team with rating administration tasks to ensure on-time delivery of ratings,
  • Reviewing submitted speaking and writing tests for technical difficulties, protocol issues, etc., and assisting the team in researching the answers to customers’ inquiries about the tests we deliver,
  • Participating in User Acceptability Testing of assessment content revisions and updates to LTI’s rater and rating platforms, as needed,
  • Supporting the APM team in special projects/programs as per LTI initiatives and business needs and/or requested by department leadership, such as:
  • New client and candidate reports,
  • New product/item development, and
  • Updating documentation for internal or external customers
  • Generating suggestions and leading some initiatives to improve our systems and products, including documenting the requirements and acceptance criteria needed to communicate with and partner effectively with our IT partners,
  • Supporting the APM team by serving as a rating SME to ensure proposed procedural and system updates represent LTI rater/tester vendors’ needs, the needs of the Assessment Support Team, and are executable across the entire LTI rater, tester, and test administration teams,
  • Support the APM team in processing accommodations requests made by LTI clients and candidates, per LTI’s accommodation policies,
  • Some occasional evening and weekend coverage may be required during periods of high-volume testing for rating and rating administration tasks, and
  • Completing other related tasks, as assigned by department leadership.
