The Assistant Director, Resident Care assists in the management, coordination and maintenance of an efficient, productive, and organized Assisted Living nursing department. In absence of the Director of Resident Care shall have administrative authority over and responsibility for the functions and activities of the nursing department. Demonstrates knowledge of and delivers care in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act in the State in which employed. The Assistant Director, Resident Care is a member of the Nursing Administrative team. Will rotate “on-call” with members of this team.
Key Responsibilities/Essential Functions:

Key Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
- Supervises direct nursing care and services.
- Assumes administrative authority for clinical departments in the absence of the Director, Resident Services.
- Administers direct nursing care when more than routine care is indicated.
- Makes routine rounds to assure proper care and a safe, clean resident environment is maintained.
- Participates in staffing, scheduling, counseling, orientation of nursing staff.
- Participates in family/resident counseling.
- Assists in completing pre-assessments and Community Based Assessments.
- Routinely audits and monitors clinical documentation and ensures regulatory compliance.
