Purpose of Role Responsible for administering employee benefits programs including health and insurance, worker's compensation, retirement planning as well as leave administration. Reports to Manager of Benefits. Expectations Administers group employee benefits programs, including daily employee benefits transactions (e.g. enrollment, termination, and claims), and benefits billing. Communicates benefits information to employees and responds to employee inquiries. Collaborates with the Benefits Manager to resolve employee benefit-related issues in collaboration with employees, internal stakeholders, and external vendors. Creates and maintains records of employee benefits transactions, issue resolution, reports, and other documentation in compliance with legal, regulatory, and provider requirements. Interprets FMLA and ADA implications as they relate to leaves of absences/disabilities; processes and administers all leave-of-absence requests and disability paperwork. Collaborates with Payroll to ensure accurate and timely processing of employer contributions and payroll deductions. Coordinates with Accounts Payable and benefits vendors to process invoices and research any discrepancies. Assists Benefits Manager with routine audits to analyze benefit program costs and employee utilization. Coordinates workers' compensation claims with third party administrator. Completes 401k funding and administrative tasks each payroll; responds to 401(k) inquiries from managers and employees relating to enrollments, plan changes and contribution amounts. EXPERIENCE/SKILLS/COMPETENCIES Minimum two years of Benefits Administration experience. Working knowledge of federal and state regulations affecting employee benefits programs, including ERISA, FMLA, ADAA, Section 125, COBRA and Workers Compensation Experience with HRIS such as UKG and Benefits Solutions such as Bswift. Knowledge of HR processes, policies, procedures, and legal and regulatory requirements. Interpersonal, oral, and written communication and negotiation skills. Strong customer service orientation with an analytical and consultative approach to problem solving to develop trusting professional relationships. Research, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Organizational skills with attention to detail to ensure accuracy. Proficiency in MS Office Suite. Compensation The base salary range for this position is ($60,000 - $80,000), inclusive of all geographical differences in the labor market. The base salary for the position will be determined based on factors such as the candidate's work location, skills, education, and experience.
