Broadcast Editor (Nicole Crank Show)

As the Broadcast Editor for the Nicole Crank Show, primary duties include the planning,shooting, and editing of the NCS television broadcast episodes, promotional material forNCS and Nicole Crank ministries, including Mastermind and Circle of Friends, and othercontent in innovative and creative ways.

This position requires its primary duty must be the performance of work requiring invention, imagination, originality or talent in a recognized field of artistic or creative endeavor.

The Faith Church Film & Television Department is responsible for producing and distributing video content across all the church's creative outlets. We inspire audiences to grow in their personal faith through live broadcast production, weekly television programs - airing on national and global networks; our weekend experiences, promotional ads and marketing, social media, creative event openers, and anything else related to video for Faith Church and Crank Ministries.

General

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • To work closely with the Visual & Media Arts Pastor in assuming primary responsibility for the production of the Nicole Crank Show, Nicole Crank Ministries videos, and other Faith Church broadcast projects.
  • Perform editorial functions including rough cuts, graphic design & integration, audio sweetening, color correction, and final delivery to NCS Producer.
  • Assist with the technical aspects of a video set including professional handling of cameras, cinematography, confidently rigging lighting, and helping create sets in pre-production.
  • Developing and creating shotlists and shooting b-roll as necessary.
  • Understand quality design aesthetics and current trends in curent talk shows and reality television, taking what people are thinking and bringing it to screens in ways that inspire.
  • Understand the context in which finished work will be used to create more effective final products.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment (routinely uses standard office and video equipment) and on filming shoots.

Physical Demands

Office time is mostly a sedentary role (stationary at desk and working on a computer); during video shoots, services and events, must have high energy for multiple hour segments.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

The weekly schedule will include 40-45 hours per week and will be the same every week. In addition to your regular weekly hours you will be asked to participate in events that will occasionally include evening or weekend hours, as there are continual seasons where it will be necessary to exceed these minimum hours (i.e., Christmas, Easter, Strategic Planning, are just some examples and do not encompass all of the extended hours opportunities). These hours can/will fluctuate.

Sunday: 8am 12:00pm

Monday: 9:00am 6:00pm

Tuesday: 9:00am 9:00pm

Wednesday: 9:00am 6:00pm

Thursday: 9:00am 6:00pm

Friday: OFF

Saturday: OFF

Travel

Campus to campus local travel and occasional overnight trips will be expected for this position.

Required Education And Experience

  • Level of experience: Intermediate (practical application)
  • Minimum of 5+ years experience in film/video making (directing, editing, etc.)
  • Film portfolio available online
  • Extensive understanding of the filmmaking process (development, pre-production, production, and post-production)
  • Strong DP/Cinematography skills
  • Video editing proficiency (Adobe Premiere)
  • Color-grading proficiency
  • Proficiency with production equipment (steady cam, dolly, gimbal,lighting, camera op)
  • Creativity / strong editorial problem solverand self-motivator
  • A love for the Gospel and motivated to build the local church.
