Our Camera Operator x Editor will play a key role in creating and delivering engaging and inspiring video content across a range of channels. You live, eat, sleep and dream in video. You are a maker who works to elevate our client's brands by capturing high-quality content and editing inspired brand stories.

You have a well-developed sense of visual storytelling, are comfortable wrangling teams, talent and tech. You have a finger on the pulse of the latest trends and techniques for creating high-impact video. You are always looking for an elegant and nimble solution. You shoot with the human story in mind.

Core Responsibilities

  • Partner with creative and production teams in developing video assets
  • Responsible for capturing and editing video content for client and internal needs per specifications of the project
  • Bring ideas to life while working within the construct of the creative brief to deliver brand ideas on time and on budget
  • Comfortable working within a range of budgets from backyard theater to broadway productions
  • Partner with Studio Manager to align on budget parameters: production gear, locations, talent, wardrobe, props, timing and any third party partners
  • Provide creative input on initial scripts throughout the production process
  • Work closely with producers and creative teams during the review and approval process
  • Address all agency and/or client edit changes with quality output and schedule in mind
  • Archive all footage at the conclusion of each job per the internal process.
  • Maintains all equipment used
  • Owns any other duties/responsibilities assigned by supervisor

Qualifications & Experience

  • 3-5 years of experience working in creative environments (agencies, production, fashion, etc.)
  • Must work in the Chicago office at least three days a week, Tuesday through Thursday, and able to travel as needed

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

  • Proficiency with video cameras, basic lighting and audio equipment
  • Proficiency in Adobe Premiere, After Effects and Photoshop
  • Motion Design skills a plus but not required
  • Candidate must have excellent organizational skills, be detail oriented, able to multitask, and be a self-starter
  • Readiness to jump in and do what it takes to create high quality content
  • Cool and calm under pressure, comfortable managing to tight timelines, and diplomatic with a problem-solving attitude during stressful situations
  • Know when it's necessary to respond quickly and comfortable pivoting as needed
  • Strong communication skills – provides frequent updates, knows when to ask questions, etc.
