The Cash Applications Analyst will analyze cash application processes to identify areas of opportunity and develop strategies to enhance efficiency and accuracy. This position requires managing relationships with customers and exercising discretion and independent judgment
in resolving complex discrepancies and customer payment issues. An advanced knowledge in finance and accounting is required and involves implementing process improvements to optimize internal operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities, include the following: (other duties may be assigned.
Execute the cash application process, including posting payments, ensuring timely and accurate application of payments
Manage a high volume of payment applications, including ACH, E-Checks, Lockbox, and Credit Cards
Analyze processes and cash application data to identify trends, discrepancies, and areas for improvement; develop best practices based on analysis
Generate and interpret financial reports to inform management decisions and strategies
Exercise discretion and independent judgment in resolving complex discrepancies and customer payment issues
Make critical decisions regarding refund requests, adjustments, and write-offs to maintain accurate financial records
Manage relationships with customers to resolve payment issues, negotiate payment terms, and address payment concerns
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to implement solutions that enhance cash application efficiency
Partner with various cross-functional teams, including Sales, Sales Operations, and Customer Care, to resolve customer issues timely and accurately
Prepare and present reports on cash application performance to management
Advise management on potential financial and debt exposure. Provide training and guidance to junior staff on cash application procedures and best practices
Perform other related duties or special projects as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements
Ability to work independently and exercise discretion and judgment in financial matters
Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
Advanced proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with all levels within the organization
