Arrowhead Regional Medical Center Health Information Management has an immediate need of 2 temporary Certified Coder II.

Responsibilities

Job Description:

Review and analyze medical records to assign appropriate codes using ICD-10, ICD-9, and other coding systems
Ensure accurate and timely coding of diagnoses, procedures, and services
Abstract relevant information from medical records for coding purposes
Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify documentation and ensure accurate code assignment
Stay up-to-date with changes in coding guidelines and regulations
Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulations
Assist with medical billing and reimbursement processes as needed

Skills

Proficiency in medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
Strong knowledge of medical coding systems, including ICD-10 and ICD-9
Familiarity with DRG (Diagnosis Related Group) coding
Ability to interpret and analyze complex medical documentation
Attention to detail and accuracy in coding assignments
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Strong computer skills, including proficiency in electronic health record systems

2-3 years inpatient coding at an acute care hospital

Knowledgeable in ICD-10 CM, coding convention and guidelines

Familiar with 3M encoder and Epic and Meditech

Hybrid or Remote will discuss with the candidate

7am-5pm shift starts as early as 7am and ends as late as 5pm PST (8 hr shift)

Please note that this is not an entry-level position. Prior experience in medical coding or related field is required.
